Roundtable 3: Synthetic control arms, promise or mirage?
How can the reuse of routinely generated health data provide higher quality patient follow-up data, including once early access has ended? How can early access data help us attest to the adoption of innovation and its equitable access?

Claire Biot is Vice President, Healthcare Industry at Dassault Systèmes.
She is also an independent director of Mauna Kea Technologies. Before joining Dassault Systèmes, Claire headed the General Agency for Health Equipment and Products (AGEPS), an establishment of Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP), and was head of the Health Products office at the Ministry of Health.
Claire is a graduate of École Polytechnique and Corps des Mines, holds a master’s degree in life sciences from Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, NY, USA, and a PhD in immunology from Institut Pasteur (Paris). She is also Doctor Honoris Causa of Long Island University, NY, USA. Claire is a Knight of the National Order of Merit and was named a 2022 Young Leader by the French-American Foundation.
Antoine Vanier is a public health physician and holds a PhD in biostatistics.
He works within the real-world data coordination unit of the Directorate for Evaluation and Access to Innovation (the directorate responsible for health technology assessment) at the French National Authority for Health.
As a methodologist, he provides cross-functional support to the directorate’s staff and contributes as an author to the methodological guidelines for the European Health Technology Assessment regulation.
He is one of France’s two permanent representatives within the “Methods and Procedures” subgroup of the European regulation coordination.
He currently holds a position at Bristol-Myers Squibb as Medical Director and is a member of the Executive Committee.
In this capacity, he is responsible for three medical departments: innovative medicines, oncology, and hematology.
