Claire was initially a developmental biologist, then pursued medical studies and became a general practitioner, before attaining the position of Associate Professor in General Medicine. She practiced for over 15 years in urban and rural settings, as well as in Africa. Alongside her clinical activity, as part of her academic career, she defended a PhD thesis in social epidemiology.
She thus conducted research for over 12 years at INSERM while continuing her consultations, focusing primarily on socio-territorial health inequalities. Her thesis notably addressed the impact of women’s migratory background on the use of cancer screening.
Claire was also co-director of the Epidemiological Center on Medical Causes of Death for 5 years and headed the WHO Collaborating Center for the Classification of Diseases. She began working on health data in 2007 and has been fully dedicated to it ever since.
She is currently Director of Observation, Data Science, and Evaluation at the French National Cancer Institute.
Dr. Nathalie Varoqueaux, MD, PhD, is the Medical Director of Amgen France.
A specialist in hematology, she holds a PhD in Science from Paris VI Pierre and Marie Curie University in cellular and molecular biology. She has held various senior positions in several pharmaceutical companies, such as Roche, Alexion, and AstraZeneca, in medical affairs, business development, and pharmacovigilance.
N. Varoqueaux is also Vice-President of ARIIS, Vice-President of the Research and Innovation Commission of LEEM, and a board member of the AI & Cancers Sector.
