Roundtable 4: How to be effective in a global competition?
As data production becomes widespread, the competition to leverage real-world data is global. France possesses significant assets but also faces obstacles related to its culture and organization. Which accelerator should be the focus to remain in the race? Following the artificial intelligence “spring” of recent times, what is the reality of current projects and the work that remains to be done? How can small and large industrial players seize the opportunities of artificial intelligence, and where do they currently stand? How can the transfer between public and private teams help? All these questions will be addressed in a round table discussion, moving beyond political correctness, to attempt to answer the question: How can France shine internationally?

Corinne Blachier-Poisson is a graduate of HEC and holds a Master’s degree in International Economics from Paris-Dauphine University.
She was responsible for medico-economic evaluation at AFSSAPS between 1998 and 2002. After holding various positions in organization and marketing/sales at Rhône-Poulenc and Novartis, Corinne Blachier-Poisson joined Amgen France in 2009 as Director of the Nephrology Business Unit. She was appointed Executive Director of Amgen France’s Oncology/Hematology Business Unit in 2011, then Executive Director of Market Access and Public Affairs for the French subsidiary in 2013. She then joined Amgen’s parent company in the United States for a mission dedicated to the Group’s transformation, before being appointed General Manager of Amgen Belgium and Luxembourg in 2016, a position she held until January 1, 2019, when she was named Vice President and General Manager of Amgen France.
Today, as President of Amgen’s second-largest subsidiary in Europe, she is responsible for coordinating actions and supporting her 400 employees in their missions.
She is also a member of the Board of Directors of LEEM and President of the Association of International Research Pharmaceutical Groups (Agipharm).
In 2023, Corinne Blachier-Poisson was entrusted with leading the artificial intelligence (AI) and health project within the strategic committee for the health industries and technologies sector (CSF-ITS).
Marc Bonneville, D.V.M. and research director at CNRS, is currently Scientific and Medical Director of Institut Mérieux.
From 1983 to 2013, Marc worked as an academic researcher in immunology and, in this capacity, directed an INSERM research center in France for over 15 years. In 2013, he became Vice President in charge of scientific and medical affairs at Institut Mérieux, a biopharmaceutical holding company involved in diagnostic, therapeutic, and service activities related to infectious diseases, cancer, and food safety.
Since 2016, he has been President of the Alliance for Research and Innovation of Health Industries (ARIIS), an organization that promotes partnerships between public research and industries in health innovation. From 2020 to 2022, Marc served as Scientific and Medical Director of the Mérieux Foundation, a non-profit entity that helps the most vulnerable countries and communities fight infectious diseases by strengthening diagnostic and research capabilities.
Marc is the author of over 200 scientific articles, co-inventor of 8 patents, and co-founder of a biotechnology company (Innate Pharma SA). He has participated in over 30 scientific advisory boards and national and international evaluation committees. He has received the CNRS bronze and silver medals, as well as several awards from charitable organizations.
A former student of the École Normale Supérieure (Ulm), Franck Mouthon led a CEA (French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission) research team for about ten years.
In 2013, he chose the path of entrepreneurship by co-founding, alongside Mathieu Charvériat, Theranexus, a company dedicated to the design and development of drug candidates to treat rare pediatric neurological diseases. He is currently its Executive Chairman.
Since September 2019, he has been elected President of France Biotech, an independent association that brings together health innovation entrepreneurs (biotech, medtech, digital health). Franck Mouthon has also been appointed a qualified personality within the monitoring committee of the France 2030 Health Innovation Plan.
